Introvert. Extrovert. We throw these words around as if they’re obvious. But they’re not.

Introverts

Introverts tend to recharge inwardly. In the Bird Styles, this is seen as the logical, analytical Owls 🦉 and the supportive, empathetic Doves 🕊.

Owls turn inward to think. They analyze, focus deeply, and process before they speak. They prefer control over their surroundings because it facilitates concentration. Noise drains them faster than people realize.

Doves turn inward to feel. They reflect, connect one-on-one, and value harmony and safety. They care about stable relationships and emotional consistency.

Both Owls and Doves can be social. They often are. The difference is what happens afterward. Excessive external stimulation depletes their energy, even if the interaction itself was positive.

Extroverts

Extroverts recharge from outside sources. They include the take-charge, assertive Eagle 🦅 and the social, talkative Parrots 🦜.

Eagles gain energy from action, momentum, and influence. They think out loud and move quickly. Sitting still for too long feels like friction.

Parrots gain energy from people, ideas, and expression. They discuss it, brainstorm in real time, and brighten a room.

Quiet time benefits both. Too much of it can feel like confinement.

Now, let’s go beyond introverts and extroverts.

Ambiverts

Ambiverts are closer to the middle. They balance an extroverted style with an introverted style. In Bird terms, these are Parrot/Doves and Eagle/Owls.

In fact, studies show that 16% of people are extroverts, 16% are introverts, and 68% of people are Ambiverts.

A Parrot/Dove can be warm, expressive, and focused on people, then just as content listening quietly and supporting from the background.

An Eagle/Owl can take charge, drive results, then retreat to think, plan, and refine. They adapt without swinging wildly.

Omniverts

Omniverts swing between extremes. These Parrot/Owls and Eagle/Doves are not “in the middle.” In any given moment, they either act introverted or extroverted, depending on the moment.

A Parrot/Owl can be full of energy, saying, “Come on, everybody, let’s do this!” 🦜 and then flip to “Leave me alone, I’m working” 🦉.

An Eagle/Dove can push hard and make quick decisions 🦅, then suddenly slow down to protect people and maintain harmony 🕊.

This often causes confusion. People perceive them as inconsistent or moody. They’re not. They’re wired to switch.

None of these approaches is better or worse than the others. They are just different energy patterns. Once you understand yours, a lot of self-judgment disappears. You stop trying to fit into the wrong environment and start choosing settings that match how you recharge.

Which one feels most like you?
